Sky Train Nowadays, the
number of the population in Bangkok has
increased rapidly. Bangkok has become one of the
busiest cities in the world. Traffic congestion
in the city is so great that the problem cannot
be solved without diverting road users to other
means cannot be solved without diverting road

problem, an efficient mass transit system has
been constructed, which will prove vital to the
continued economic growth of the city.
The Bangkok
Transit System (BTS) is comprised of two lines:
the Sukhumvit Line and the
Silom Line with a
total distance of approximately 23.5 kms.
The Bangkok
Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has awarded a
30-year concession period to the Bangkok Mass
Transit System Public Company Limited (BTSC) to
build, operate and transfer this elevated mass
transit railway through central Bangkok. |
